Dash, a leading cryptocurrency for payments and e-commerce, has announced a partnership with VegaWallet, the complete cryptocurrency platform, to further expand operations and applications for blockchain-based payment protocols. Through the partnership, VegaWallet will become the first wallet to use BitGo’s multi-signature Dash implementation with InstantSend transactions, and in the future it will be developing real world applications for Dash’s Evolution hard fork.

Bradley Zastrow, global head of business development at Dash Core Group, said: “VegaWallet’s ability to provide Dash users with with a secure wallet and payment solution plays a strong role in the value proposition. VegaWallet’s goal of creating a payments solution for the legal cannabis industry aligns with Dash’s goals to support underbanked businesses, making them a key partner for us going forward. Our primary focus is making daily commerce easy with Dash, and VegaWallet’s current and future products will add immense value to the Dash ecosystem. We are looking forward to our ongoing partnership with VegaWallet, as we continue to progress towards the launch of Evolution.”

VegaWallet currently supports several features for Dash in both its mobile and desktop wallets. The full system will include an inventory management system, business metrics, employee information panel, and other features, such as a cryptocurrency rewards and loyalty program powered by Dash and the VegaWallet Token. VegaWallet’s user interface has been streamlined after testing with third party groups to ensure it is simple to understand for beginners. The multi-coin friendly wallet allows users to easily transact in Dash and other currencies. The new functionalities include market trend data, full transaction history, and other popular user requests.

Tarek Hajri, CEO of VegaWallet, said: “VegaWallet’s partnership with Dash provides a unique atmosphere for improvement concerning real world applications in the blockchain based payments space. We believe customers will be excited for these future applications regarding the shared interests on our roadmap.”

Last year, Dash announced that BitGo, the market leader in institutional-grade cryptocurrency security, has added Dash to its list of digital currencies. As such, BitGo provided the first enterprise-class multi-signature wallet which enable institutions to safely leverage Dash at scale as part of their operations. VegaWallet is the first to leverage this existing multi-signature Dash implementation in addition do Dash’s InstantSend technology, creating a secure and seamless wallet experience for users.

To celebrate this partnership, Dash and VegaWallet will host a design contest. Participants from all communities will be invited to design a new wallet theme for the Dash themed VegaWallet. The winner will be chosen from a panel of judges from both organizations and will receive the opportunity to have his or her design featured as a permanent theme option in the upcoming desktop wallet update. Currently, the desktop wallet is still in beta, but it is downloadable on VegaWallet’s website, vegawallet.com.
